Wound care is part of rehabilitation services offered at 1524 McHenry Avenue, Suite 330 in Modesto. Physical and occupational therapies are also offered at this location. Wound care services are provided by a physical therapist with specialized training and over 30 years of experience in the field. Wound care requires a referral from a patient’s medical provider.
Wound Care Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8-11 A.M. and 2-4 P.M. The first appointment needs to be scheduled by the clinic for wound care evaluation. Follow-up clinic visits will be discussed with the patient as part of the treatment plan after the evaluation. For information on care call (209) 724-7606.
Commonly Treated Wounds:
- Leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers)
- Foot/toe ulcers (typically diabetic ulcers)
- Burns
- Abscesses
- Surgical incisions that will not stay closed
- Wounds that require a VAC (negative pressure wound therapy)
Important Considerations:
- Wheelchair patients: The area to be treated needs to be accessible while patient is seated in the wheelchair
- The initial wound care visit must be within 1 week of seeing the provider due to the rapidly changing nature of wounds
- Clinic only treats the original wound covered by the referral. Other wounds will require a visit with the patient’s provider and a new referral.
- The clinic does not treat rashes or swollen legs. The patient must have an open wound in order to be seen in the clinic.
- If a patient does not return within 2 weeks of the last wound clinic treatment, a new referral will be required before returning to the clinic for treatment.
- No medications can be prescribed by the clinic.
